"Our Home is a dream come true"
"Over our transient lifetime we have lived in over 16 different homes both internationally and nationally but never in a new home. It was with a sense of trepidation therefore that we decided to build a new home for our retirement. We decided that we wanted a home that would allow us the ability to live in it for at least 20 years and therefore looked for a builder with innovative thinking. We also wanted a "Timeless" house that would stand the test of changing fashions and designs!
By chance we came across Tai Saletele and Delmira Homes and what a blessing that has proved. My nephew who owns a building company in the Bay of Plenty told us not to look at the big ‘brands’ but to find the builder that we related to as he would be better able to bond with us and understand our needs and dreams. Tai did just that and in a short space of time won our confidence.
Nothing has been too much trouble, he personally built our home, was tuned into innovative thinking and would bring to us ideas for us to consider using a “common sense’ and “if I was living in it’ approach. The home we now have is a dream come true! After 30 days we struggled to find anything that needed attention and now after 7 months we still haven't found anything! You hear those horror stories but for us they don't relate to our builder.

"Excecptionaly smooth & very Enjoyable"
"Having recently moved to NZ from the UK, one of our top objectives was to build a modern well insulated house, and we had a long list of requirements. We were not sure if this would be easy or difficult but our experience of building with Delmira Homes turned out to be exceptionally smooth and very enjoyable. Tai, Chris and the Delmira team took care of everything and always responded quickly to our questions through all the stages, from selecting the site through to sorting out the loose ends after moving in. In fact, the involvement does not end there as Tai takes his commitment to looking after his clients very seriously and we know that if there are any problems or we want to make changes in the future, he will be there to help.
As with any major project there were a few issues, but Tai dealt with them very professionally and thoroughly, responding with good advice to all our ideas and changes. As an engineer, I wanted to be closely involved in the design and Alison had some strong ideas about the look and feel; Tai and Chris accommodated these with good grace and sound advice, taking on board our better ideas and politely talking us out of the sillier ones ! We share an interest in the application of 3D computer aided design, which we used to good effect during the design phase and also managing the inevitable modifications during the build. We were always made welcome when visiting the site and Tai's ever-cheerful and committed team were happy to answer our questions. Now that the build is complete we feel lucky to count them as friends who are always welcome to pop round for a beer to admire the views.
We have been recommending Delmira to all our friends and colleagues, and would like work with Tai again should we decide to move - although I can't imagine why we would, as the finished result is fantastic and we are loving our great new home !" |

Tai and his fantastic team at Delmira Homes have built 2 houses for us over the past 3 years. On both occasions he has made life so easy for me. He worked with us on the design and consistently came up with suggestions on how we could improve it.
The quality of both builds and the suppliers that Delmira Homes use are of a high standard. It is also a big help having someone within the team to help with the interior design as this saved me a lot of time and effort. In terms of the fittings and finishings – this was all stipulated in our contract down to the finer detail including towel holders etc. I didn’t have to think or rush out to buy anything! It was all included in the contract.
Delmira Homes take the stress out of building and make this a pleasurable experience. We are now in our house and extremely happy with the finished product. They even come back after 90 days to see if there are any touch ups required.
I can’t recommend Delmira Homes highly enough. A big thanks to Tai and the team.

"Thank You Tai For Our Dream Home"
It was an easy decision for us to go with Tai and Delmira Homes when looking for a developer for our dream home. Tai listened to us and our ideas, which was really important to us, and did not try for fit us into a standard pre-designed house. He added value to our thinking by freely providing really usefully and practical information and ideas based on his building experience. Plus Tai’s team is real friendly and welcoming without being pushy.
We also valued the contractors that Tai uses. Without exception they were all excellent trade people and nice people. When we went on site during the build we always felt welcome and all our questions were answered. We really appreciated the long hours that were put in to complete our home on time.
We appreciated their focus on quality through the whole build process.
A special mention is required of Darryl Pratt of Dacca builders. Darryl was in charge of our actual building. Darryl’s attention to quality, being proactive and focus on delivery of our home on time was fantastic. If this was a school report then Darryl would be marked ‘excellent’ for all categories.
Tai’s support staff are excellent. We always felt that they were working for us and providing us with good options to help us get the best value for our dream home. During the build Tai would say to us “you are now part of the Delmira family”. After getting our home built we truly feel part of the Delmira family.

"Delmira Homes took the time to thoroughly understand our needs"
We have always dreamed of building our own house and with a section that required careful consideration to get the most out of it and a long list of requirements (including a photography studio) we were cautious about who we could invite into our lives and trust to build our new home.
We chose Delmera Homes after having several meetings with Chris and Tai, whom we found not only be transparent with their processes but, also took the time to thoroughly understand our needs, allowing them to come up with outstanding ideas and options (throughout the process). This not only saved us money but also ensured that we received a fantastic end result. It’s hard when you only go through this process once so relying and trusting your building company is of the utmost importance.
We Enjoyed the whole process from concept to completion with no stress or worry and only had a few very minor problems, that once were identified, were dealt with in an open, honest and timely way. We always felt in control and that nothing would be overlooked or unexplained. Overall it was an amazing experience and we have absolutely no regrets, our only disappointment is that we don’t get to see Tai and his team as often now that the build process is over.
For something as important as our home the top priority was to invest in Quality, which is why we chose Tai and the Delmera Homes family.

"This proved to be the best move we made; Tai was excellent to work with"
While we had often talked about building our own house, we had always been very hesitant due to a number of horror stories we had heard about. Invariably this would involve builders that had either not disclosed all the costs, or tried to cut corners at every turn with the build. Eventually we made the decision that we would build, but only if we found the right builder, not only one who would listen to what we wanted in our house but one that we could trust to be upfront and work with us to get the best result for our investment. After a lot of research we settled on Delmira as we liked their houses which to our mind were finished to a really high degree and had a very good reputation. This proved to be the best move we made; Tai was excellent to work with and his method of outlaying the build right down to the clothesline and letterbox was exactly what we were looking for. Tai stayed in constant touch right throughout the build, even suggesting several small changes where he thought we may not have got it quite right. These suggestions proved a great help and added to the quality of the final product which we are delighted with. One of the best things about Delmira (apart from the great service and quality of the build) is the friendly service we got from everyone involved, from Tai as project manager to the builders on site and the girls in the office. It really was a surprisingly hassle free process. You start the journey as clients, but finish it as friends. It was areally positive experience. |
